Happy Halloween 2010

Halloween festivities started a little early for us this year! On the 16th of October, we had a chili cook off for a church party! They decided at the last minutes they would make it a Halloween party! I personally thought this was a LAME idea. Who wants to trunk or treat in the middle of the month? Anyway, Julie had bought costumes for the kids, but they weren't here yet, so we did the best we could to make them costumes!

These were the saddest costumes ever! Carter and Taylor each wore an apron and a chef's hat. The babies wore an orange shirt and we made them jack o lanterns. It was by far the worst costumes I have ever seen. Poor Carter was so embarrassed. He didn't even want to wear anything, but we told him only kids dressed up could trunk or treat... so he dealt with it!

We had a big typhoon a couple days ago and the kids were so worried that they wouldn't get to use their cool ninja costumes Julie had bought them. Thankfully, the weather was back to normal and we got to trick or treat! The kids had a ball. Carter and Taylor were like seasoned pros and the babies did a great job. It sounded more like twik or tweet or they just said please. It was so sweet! People were so excited to see twins! Oh, and I was so PROUD of my kids. They said thank you to everyone that gave them a treat, even the babies!

Anyway, here's a few pictures! We had a blast! Sorry if you've already seen these on facebook. I wanted the family to get a sneak peek! :)

The jack o lanterns! lol.

Spooky pumpkins!

My 4 little ninjas!

Showing me some of their moves!

The babies loved the costumes!

Trick or Treating!
My tough guys! They also had the best time ever! Carter kept hugging me telling me thank you for taking them to get some treats! They truly are such great kids! Very polite and loving! :)

Carter Moment of the Week-

So I'm watching "Cheaper by the Dozen" with all the little kids-

It got to the part where the girl looks at her little brother and says,"Nice move, Fedex."

Carter starts laughing so hard and says he's going to call Taylor that from now on. Then he runs over to Taylor and says, "Nice move Fatass." I almost died!

I explained she said Fedex and now he's using the right word. lol. Serious kids are hilarious!!!

TCCOR-1E

As of right now we are in TCCOR-1E. We are all doing fine and are cuddled up in the apartment. It is SO windy that is feels like the windows are bowing in. Everything is so loud! To explain whats going on I should mention on a normal day we are in TCCOR-4. When they see a hurricane, or typhoon coming we start going down in the TCCOR number! We went to TCCOR-3 in the morning yesterday.

I quickly went to the grocery store to stock up on food and supplies just in case we lose power! The hurricane is suppose to be a pretty big one and as of right now it's suppose to hit us right on! We are right on the water... so it makes me a little nervous, but Rhett has assured me we are perfectly safe on the 6th floor!

Anyway, we went into TCCOR-2 just after lunch meaning that wind will hit within 24 hours. "Chaba" has decided to speed up a little and we went into TCCOR-1 late last night! It would have been exciting because NO school and the only person that has to work in the dental clinic is the Dr. on call. Unfortunately that was Rhett. He went to work for about 3 hours this morning until we went into TCCOR-1C-Caution.

They shut all the gates so I'm glad he was able to come out and get home safely! They just went into TCCOR-1E-Emergency. The winds are blowing like CRAZY!!! It is so loud on the windows I know we won't be getting a whole lot of sleep tonight, but we are safe! Please don't worry family! We love and miss you all! I'll keep you updated. Hopefully it won't hit us right on and if it does that we will be able to get through TCCOR-1R-Recovery sometime tomorrow! I feel bad for all the kids though. Due to the storm all the Halloween stuff has been cancelled! What a bummer! We'll see if the typhoon is over and cleaned up by Saturday!

Rhett took the garbage down a little while ago with the two big boys! Taylor blew into the stair well! Rhett thought it was funny! He had to hold his hand because he kept blowing away! All of them are safe and in bed now! :)

Bubbles and Hot Tubs~

Sorry for the repeat pictures from facebook! I needed to update so on here I will add a few new ones to the mix! I have decided TWINS is HARD!!! I have to really keep and eye on these naughty little monkeys at ALL times! They get into so much more stuff then any of our other kids did! Anyway, I thought we needed some outside time! It has started to cool off a little bit and it was a little windy for water play! We decided to make ourselves a HOT TUB! It was great for the kids to splash and play in clean water! It was exactly like a bath... but the kids didn't catch on. They thought it was great fun!

Taylor has been my shadow since moving to Japan. I hope he is dealing with all the changes okay! He really is a very sweet boy, but it is so sad to see him cover his eyes and cry every Sunday when we drop him off at primary! I don't know why it's so traumatic to him.

Box Tops

Dear Mrs Willeford, (Or Carter future teachers)

I understand that the school needs money and box tops are a great way of earning a little extra. Carter came home with a piece of paper the other day that had 25 slots for you to paste our box tops to. He was so excited! The due date was set for a week away. He said if he didn't get his filled out the school wouldn't have enough money to do the fun activities anymore! I feel like that's a lot of pressure for a 6 year old.

While I was taking a shower today I noticed that Carter was taping box tops to the paper! He was excited to bring it in to show his support for the school and their fund raisers! I guess the point that I'm trying to get across is that I would rather send Carter in with the $2.50 than to see holes in all my pasta boxes, cookie dough, and flour! It really made a mess, but I'm glad Carter could contribute to the fund raiser! In the future... we will only be donating the box tops that the boxes are empty!

Thanks,
Rebecca Olsen

Foster Fest

Here we were headed to the grocery store when we saw about 12 big bouncers! Carter and Taylor started going crazy in the back seats wondering what this beautiful, wonderful, fantastic, stupendous, great event was that brought all this fun stuff!

We immediately pulled over to check it out and had only minor regrets over pulling over. ($20 worth) It was called Foster Fest and was on the Foster Marine Base. It was just a little festival of sorts where different vendors had things set up to make a little money.

We donated our money and had a great time bouncing, climbing, jumping, and swinging! The kids were in LOVE with us..... until the money ran out! Then they were back to hating. :)

Anyway, here's a couple of pictures to show the fun we had!

Carter on the trampoline. It was SO lame... he didn't even do one flip he was so scared. I guess I should just be proud he didn't pee his pants!

Me with the three babies! This was actually like a mini tidal wave! It was hilarious! The babies were squealing with delight every time they lost there stomach. Wait... I thought it was delight, but it may have been terror. Their favorite part was when it stopped! :)

Me and Rhett decided the kids were just wasting our money and thought we had better show that we are still "The Bomb." Yep... it will still be a few years before we're uncool to them.

Mt technique was a little different then Rhett's. I went barefoot and used my monkey toes to rocket me to the top-
while Rhett went in flip flops? You crazy boy!!!

Both techniques worked fine because we both made it to the top, BUT just between you and me-- if-- we had been racing and I would have gone down and back at least three times before Rhett made it to the top! :) Love you Rhett!!!

Cape Zanpa Lighthouse

For my birthday we decided to go see the lighthouse! I have always really liked them... I think because it reminds me of my mom. Anyway, we packed up the kids and were on our way to a new fun spot! It was "wicked awesome." I didn't love carrying the babies up all the steps, but you take the good with the bad! :) I was so glad that we went. While we were up on the top we saw a fisherman catch a shark and pull it out of the water! The little boys were in HEAVEN!!! They loved watching it be pulled up.

Rhett and his boys!

Taylor headed up the dreaded stairs! Times these by about 30 and you get to the top!

On the top! Woohoo we made it!

The babies thought it was pretty cool, but it was pretty windy up there and t made them a little nervous!

The shark!

Another shot of the shark!

It was the highlight for the little boys!

It was such an amazing view from the top of the lighthouse! This picture doesn't even do it justice at all. I could have camped out up there and stayed forever!

Carter sitting by the light! They also had a fun little museum at the bottom to teach you what a lighthouse is and why they use them!

It was a fun little outing. We have actually been back a couple times. There's a really pretty beach right next to it. Although, we did see them catch a shark right there! We might pass on that beach! :)

Torii Beach Barbeque

We finally got the internet back up and working so I'll be posting quite a few fun adventures that we went on last month!

This was when we went to Torii Station and had a beach bbq. It was really fun. Every Friday night they have this thing where you buy your meat and cook it up there! We went with some friends and bought a couple steaks and hot dogs to throw on the grill. I have been lucky that Rhett is so good with a grill! The steaks were so great! Thanks babe! The kids had a blast throwing sand, playing in the water, and catching hermit crabs!

The kids had so much sand everywhere that it makes me happy that we only spent a couple thousand dollars for the Van! It has about an inch of sand in it and the kids scalps definitely need some permanent scraping to get it all out, but the important thing is that we are having a blast here!

Here are a couple updated pictures!

This is Hunter screaming because we cut his hot dog in half to give some to Ryker! He was really ticked off!!!

Sweet Carter is growing up so fast!

Ryker feeding Hunter Ketchup! Yummy!!!

Taylor running to the water! What a beautiful world we live in!

Me and Rhett
Ryker- Check out all the sand on him! It was caked everywhere! He loves to throw it when it's in the shovel, but it usually just ends up landing on his own head!

Funny Carter Moment-

We were all in the car yesterday and Carter says, "Guess what my nickname is?" Rhett and I start throwing out a couple nicknames that we call him. He goes, "No, my nickname at school... what all the kids call me." We give up and he says, "Conner."

It was so funny. We try to explain that they are just getting his name wrong and that he needs to correct them. He says he has, but they have a cousin named Conner so they just get confused! Then he says, "It's okay... I love my new nickname Conner."

What a nut!!!
