Taylor's Emergency-

Today I'm just making lunch for the three little guys and I hear a very panicked Taylor yelling, "Help Mom! It keeps keeps keeps coming. It won't even stop. I think that my bum is throwing up too much. I need some medicine. Oh and bring me the wet wipes. This is no good."

Seriously, this is what my life has become! :)

I just started laughing so hard. I brought him the wet wipes and he looks up at me with a very serious voice and says, "Look Mom, it is only two little poops and can you see how yucky it smells?"

Congrats Tay- You totally gross me out... and for the hundredth time... I DO NOT WANT TO SEE OR SMELL YOUR POOP!

Signs!!!

Being here in another country has been really hard. It is very different to me. I love it, but sometimes things just get LOST IN TRANSLATION. I have always loved SIGNS that point me in the right direction and tell me what I should be doing or where I should be going. Here are a couple signs from Japan that I have loved- Oh, and for the record I'm NOT a sign seeker. I have read and learned from other people mistakes on that account, BUT I do like them! :)

Well, I got a HUGE sign the other day. As me and Rhett have been struggling in our marriage we have wanted out. It has just seemed easier! We didn't really take into consideration what it might do to the kids or how they are handling it. I was going through Carter's drawer to put some things away the other day and came across this SIGN that he had made.

I cried and couldn't ignore such a huge gesture from a very sweet little boy. I can't say that me and Rhett are going to make it or not, BUT we have decided to try some marriage counseling to see if we can make it work! I think this is a huge step and hopefully it will end up in a "Happily Ever After" for our family. I wouldn't normally post this kind of stuff on the blog, BUT since I posted that we were splitting up I thought I had post this to clear the air... I will be staying here with Rhett and hopefully with a little help from counseling and a lot of help from a loving Father in Heaven we can make it work. :)

Thank you Carter for loving your Mom and Dad! We love you too!!!

BECAUSE--- THIS FAMILY IS DEFINITELY WORTH SAVING!!!

Day 13-

Day 13 was a Sunday so we went to church in the morning and took Melanie on her last adventure that evening. We took her to Cape Zanpa Lighthouse. It was a little overcast, but just perfect weather. It was so pretty to see it. We really do live on a gorgeous island!

The lighthouse-

The babies running up to give Melanie hugs-

Melanie, Me, and the kids right on the cliffs by the water!

The Olsen Family-

We had such a great time with Melanie and are totally open to anyone that would love to come over and visit. We have a guest room all ready! :)

Melanie, Thank you for a blast! You totally crack me up and I loved every second that you were here. The babies are still not totally convinced that you have left. They say, "Grandma is sleeping?" and check the bedroom a couple times a day!

Day 12-

Day 12- We got a babysitter for Saturday and did the Forest Adventure zip lines with Melanie. I can honestly say that Melanie was fantastic. What a trooper. She ate everything we told her to, did everything we said, and even had a huge smile on her face the entire trip. Melanie you are a total ROCK STAR in my book! :)

Right after they dropped us off.

I really do love this picture. The wind blowing her hair and a huge smile on her face!

Rhett playing around. We went upside down quite a few times and it was really fun.

Melanie and Rhett waiting to climb the rope net.

Me on the rope course.

Rhett and Melanie on a few of the stairs. We totally wiped her out with all the stairs that there were to climb.

Melanie coming across the bridge.

Rhett taking a picture from the platform.

After we played the day away on the zip lines we took Melanie to the Nepal Spice Kitchen. It is a really good Indian restaurant that Rhett loves. We had some really great curry and some non bread that was to die for. Melanie, you were totally awesome! I'm so glad you did that with us!

Me and Rhett with our yummy food!

This video is of Melanie's very first zip line. It was so funny to hear her laughing so hard! Don'y forget to pause the music at the top right corner so you can hear!

Day 11

Day 11- Melanie pulled out her first yen so we could do a little shopping. She found all sorts of little treasures for her loved ones. It was fun to have Rhett watch the kids so we could go and do this together. She is an angel and I have said it 100 times, but I got SO LUCKY to have such a great Mother in Law.

I tried to talk Melanie into buying a few snacks for the plane ride home, but for some odd reason she opted out?!? :)

Maybe next times she's here-

Day 10

On Day 10 I got a babysitter and took Melanie with me to get a pedicure. It was a much needed break and so much fun to go and get pampered with someone that you love. I feel bad because I forgot to bring the camera with me so I only have a picture of the place we went and my toes. Melanie got a pretty peach number with tons of detail on hers. They both turned out really fun. I only wish I had thought about it and scheduled manicures instead. All we do is wear socks over our pretty little toes. :)

My toes-

That night Rhett came home all mopped up. He had been doing the LRE training all week and had to do 12 hour shifts all week long. We didn't get to see him as much as we would have liked to, but in the evenings we all had a great time watching home movies of the Olsen family together. Here are a couple pictures of him in his mop gear.

Hunter was a little nervous and really checked out his eyes before he would give him any love.

This was so sweet. He gave him a kiss after he truly believed it was his daddy in there.

Pretty heavy duty stuff-

Carter also had fun putting on the helmet. :)

Day 9, I think?

We took Melanie to Bios on the Hill. It is a really pretty place similar to the botanical garden. It has gorgeous flowers everywhere and lots of fun things to do there. We started with the boat ride, which is entirely in Japanese, but still a nice relaxing ride. After that we fed the goats, ordered lunch, and played on the swings.

Melanie by some pretty flowers.

Melanie and the kids on our way over to the boats.

The whole group on the big boat.

Taylor longing to hop in the water with the ducks.

If you look to the right of this picture... it's actually moss on the water. It makes it look a little like ground. I thought it was so pretty.

I went in to order us some food. I ordered Melanie some Taco soup and for myself and the little boys I got Taco rice. It was actually pretty tasty. Anyway, while I was in ordering food the little kids were out running around in the grass and on the hills. I guess Taylor climbed a hill and was racing down the other side and took a big jump onto some grass.....ONLY... it wasn't grass! It was the moss covered water. He landed right in the middle of a small stream. The water came up to about his chest. He just stood there with a shocked look on his face. I'm sure he was wondering how the land just disappeared and was replaced by water. Poor kid. Melanie helped him out of the water and stripped him down to his underwear. She then put his jacket vest on and took her scarf and wrapped it around his legs.

All this while I was in ordering food- lol. I came out and saw him and just started laughing. I was glad that Melanie could really experience Japan like I do. Nothing ever seems to work just like you planned. I gave Taylor my coat and we ate lunch. I thought we would head right home, but the little kids still wanted to swing for a minute.

Poor Taylor wanted so bad to swing too- So the fantastic Mom that I am said, "What the heck!"

It was a fun place. I would love to go back and walk some of the pretty trails that they have there. I would like to do this without kids though. :)

Day 7 & 8

On Tuesday we headed over to American Village to show Melanie what the Japanese people think America is. It's similar to a small mall with a nice big food court with tons of Japanese food and a McDonalds. We let the kids play in the balls for about half and hour than we headed over for a bite to eat.

We ordered happy meals for the kids and I ordered Melanie Yaki Soba, Okinawa Soba, and a vegetable soup which name I can't recall. Maybe it's because I just pointed to a number 5. Yeah, let's go with that.... the number 5 was okay, but we had way TOO MUCH food so it got to come home and sit in the fridge for a week before I tossed it this morning. Oops!

Anyway, when Carter came home from school we headed down to the seawall to play with Grandma. Grandma was a little worried about the kids running by the water, but tried to enjoy the moment. We even got her to climb up on one of the concrete typhoon barriers.

These things really are huge.

Carter and the babies taking a quick break to say cheese for Grandma. They love to run and play down here.

Melanie by the water-

Ryker posing for Mommy!

Carter and Taylor running to catch up to us. Taylor is Carter's little shadow right now. It's really cute to see them together.

Mommy caught her little ones and held them just long enough for this fun photo before hey dashed off again.

Day 5 and 6

Day 5 was Sunday so we took her to our branch. It was really fun to have her see everyone we know. I had several people ask me how we had got a visitor so fast. I gave them all the truth--- "We are just really LOVED." :) We certainly think we were extremely lucky to have Melanie come and play with us.

Day 6 was a Monday. It was also Martin Luther King day so we had Rhett get to come up to Nago with us. We hit up pineapple park and the aquarium that day. By the time we got back we were all exhausted!

The whole group by the pineapple golf cart.

It was raining again, but they were prepared and pulled the plastic closed so we wouldn't get wet. Carter loved that he got to sit by Grandma.

I had the twins up in the front with me. Ryker thought the steering wheel was to cool. Rhett sat in the middle with Taylor!

Out in front- It was SO BRIGHT. I think we all have our eyes closed.

Melanie and Hunter in front of a turtle at the aquarium.

It was seriously so nice to have an extra couple sets of hands. I'm used to doing all these adventures by myself because Rhett is usually working or golfing. It seemed a lot easier this time. :)

Melanie reaching in to feel the star fish and sea cucumbers. They feel pretty slimy.

The babies just relaxing and watching all the little fish swim around. It really is very calming. I could see a nice big salt water tank in my future. :)

Ryker fell asleep during the movie we watched.

Below is a video of the babies telling Grandma about the fish they are seeing. I will miss their little voices. They are growing up too fast! Oh and Steph we have started starting all our videos with "Here we are at..." :) I love the home videos. We only have one left. They have been so much fun!

Don't forget to push the pause button on the music in the top right corner so you can actually hear them. :)
