Yard Sale

These pictures go with the the story about Carter. He runs in and wants me to make him a yard sale sign. I asked him what he was selling and he gave me a look like I am the dumbest person ever and states, "Duh, stuff from the yard." Of course... what else? :)

The sign says- Yard Sale at sun up. 10 Quarters for big sticks and 10 pennies for small sticks.
He later had me add- Give the money to Carter ONLY!

Kids are funny! I think I'll offer him a quarter to help me throw all the sticks in the trash! :)

This is Carter out by the sign and all the sticks he collected!

Daddy Date

The boys have really been missing their daddy lately so daddy decided to have a special "late" night with them. He took the big screen t.v. outside with the bean bags. They watched a movie together and drank hot cocoa and ate popcorn. They LOVE LOVE LOVE their daddy. It always makes me smile to know how important he is in their lives!

"B" is for Bubbles

We learned about the letter B the other day. This was the highlight of the day! Bubbles!!

It was cute. The babies got laughing so hard!

Funny Conversations This Week

Rhett is such a picker. He loves to pick everyone's scabs off of them. I know major gross, but it's an Olsen thing. He reached over to pick off a little scab from Carter's back.

Carter- "Stop Dad. I don't pick things off of your body!"

Taylor in the ER while the DR. was asking him what hurt.

DR.- Does your belly hurt little buddy.
Taylor- Yeah tutti butt.

Carter doing his second day of homeschool-

Dad- How was school at home Carter?
Carter- I don't really like my NEW teacher

Thursday

Carter- Am I going to see my dad today?
Mom- Yes Carter. You will see your dad today.
Carter- Good because you have really been bugging me today!

I was getting the kids in the car to go to the park.

Carter- What park are we going to
Mom- The one by the dog park
Carter- We can't even go to the dog park because we don't even have ONE dog. I wish I just had one dog!

Carter runs inside and asks me to make him a sign for a yard sale
Mom- Sure, what are you selling?
Carter- Duh, stuff from the yard

Field Trip Monday- Natural History Museum

After considering a lot of factors... I decided to pull Carter out of public school for this year. I didn't love his class and teacher and with the swine flu becoming so rapid in the school it was an easy decision to do homeschooling. Julie has Monday's off so we decided to do field trip Mondays. This first week we went to the Natural History Museum. The kids LOVED it. It was such a cool place.

We learned about dinosaurs and animals families. Carter loved the Bear family and thought it was really cool to see two of them giving a bear hug to each other. Taylor was really fascinated with the Monkey family. We told them about grooming and asked if they would like to eat bugs off of each other. The answer was no from Carter, but Taylor thought that would be hilarious! We learned about whales and sharks and got to hear the sounds that the whales make.

The favorite part was the dinosaur room. They had life-like dinosaurs that when you pushed a button they would roar. It really was cool. Carter did it so many times that the babies started crying. The sound really made them nervous. The babies loved the kids room though. Overall we had a great time and learned a ton. I very much look forward to Field trip Monday's.

This picture makes me smile. The babies were so excited seeing the fish up close!

Julie is so good with my kids. She is very patient and loves to teach them new things.

This was the babies very favorite thing. It was a little quiz game, but they just loved that it was buttons and that they could reach them.

Halloween 2009

Halloween this year was a little different. Julie took "Cowboy Carter" to the bull riding finals so we just had the three little ones. We went to the ward party and ate chili, cake, and did some tick-or-treating. The kids had a great time. Rhett dressed up as Michael Jackson and was the hit of the party! I dressed up as a soldier with the babies, and Taylor dressed up as a cowboy like Carter. I feel really bad that I don't have any pictures of Carter..... I know bad mom award.... but in my defense he left earlier in the day with Julie, Justin, and my dad.

One highlight of the evening is that our neighbor across the street, Bob, had been harassing me ALL week to make sure I would take my kids to trick-or-treat at his house. He came over and asked what their favorite little candies were and if they had any allergies. He is a pretty sweet old guy. We took the three little ones over after the ward party and he gave them each a little bag that had a couple of candy bars and a toy car in it. The funny thing was when he gave me and Rhett a little "treat." He told us to put it in our pocket. When we got home and unwrapped it it was a little bottle of alcohol. What a funny guy. After last nights ER visit I may drink mine and Rhett's. lol Anyway it was a fun holiday. We had all our kids in bed by 7:00 and curled up on the couch together to watch a scary movie!

The line for the food was a little long. I couldn't keep Taylor from laying down to take a little rest!

Bob's treats! Only in Vegas!!!

sick kid

I had the plan to blog the pictures from halloween last night, but Taylor has been crying about his belly hurting for almost two weeks now. Last night he screamed through dinner so I knew it was time to make a, not so quick, trip to the ER. We were there from about 7:00 to 11:45 and found out that he has the stomach flu. The doctor wants us to watch him close and make sure he gets all the fluids he needs. He has also had a really high fever for the last two days!

I have never wanted to punch a nurse as much as I wanted to last night! We had waited in the waiting room for the first three hours and finally got pulled back to the back. The guy said the doctor would be there in just a few minutes to check on Taylor. I waited for 40 minutes and thought I had better go check and make sure they hadn't forgot we were in there. There were these two really loud nurses that were talking and going around to get everyone's Roberto's orders for dinner. I walked up to the one and said, "We have been back here for quite awhile. Can you please check with a doctor and make sure they haven't forgot about us?" She looked at me with a smug little look and said, "It takes awhile."

I then stated a little annoyed, "Yeah I know. We have been here awhile. Please just check for me." I walked back to the little sheeted off room to wait for a doctor. He came a few minutes later and told me sorry for the wait. He continued to check out Taylor and said that his belly was really churning and to expect either vomit or diarrhea for the next few days. He left and told me that it would only be a few minutes for the discharge papers.

A few minutes later I heard the snotty little nurse reply to the other, "I think I'll make her wait a few more minutes." What a tool! I just grabbed Taylor and walked out right by her. I told her that I was leaving. She then said she had the discharge papers and if I would please just sign them. I was seriously so annoyed. I wish now I would have put in a complaint. At the time I was just ready to take my sick little guy home!

Oh and don't mind my no make-up and hair not done. That's what happens when you have four babies!

A side note- I pulled Carter out of school and will be home schooling him this year. The school is starting to get a lot of the swine flu through out and I don't want to risk all my little ones safety for him to learn how to read. I can teach him that at home.
