The next day we headed to the base to get Melanie a guest pass. We had called Rhett and planned on meeting up with him for lunch. We chose a park close to the golf course and packed a fun little picnic.
When we got there it was pretty CHILLY. It was really hard to enjoy a picnic with your hands shivering with every bite, but we seemed to make the best of it. Rhett met us there and it was fun to visit with him. The kids loved that daddy was there to push them on the tire swing. They were ALL laughing so hard together. I was just crossing my fingers that none of them would fall off or vomit up the sandwiches we had just consumed. :)
After the picnic. We headed over to the Nagakusuku Castle Ruins or as Taylor calls them, "The Ruined Castle."
Here is Melanie up on the top enclosure with the water right behind here.
Hunter and the little kids kept trying to run off the marked trail. This was when Hunter started to slide back down the hill. I laughed and took a picture while Melanie rescued the little fellow.
Carter up on the top wall preaching the gospel to everyone. I played the part of the evil people and threw stones and shot arrows at him. Thankfully, he had the spirit on his side and ended up being safe! :)
