Carter

Carter Rhett Olsen
born November 7, 2003
6 lbs. 6 oz.    20 1/2 in.

Carter has been such a sweet and wonderful blessing to our family since the day he was born. He was such a good baby. He loved to eat and take baths. Those were two things he couldn't live without.

Carter was such a sweet little chunk. He was so fat that he learned to sit up at 6 months, but still couldn't roll over. I guess it was hard to throw all that weight. He was such a sweet little guy. He rarely ever cried. One day I was upstairs and happened to hear Carter kind of whining. I went downstairs to check on him and he was eating hot sauce off of Gabe and Josh's fingers. There was tears coming down his face, but he still thought he wanted it. It was interesting living so close to the buddies. Carter's first word was "dadda" followed by "roast" and "momma," but "roast" was his favorite because of the wonderful reaction to it.

We moved to Hawaii when Carter was about nine months so daddy could go to school. It was a great experience for our family. Carter loved to go to the beach. I will never forget the diapers that I changed there. They were all full of sand from all the sand that Carter ate.

We met a wonderful couple there named Michael and Laura and they had a son named Jonah a little younger than Carter. Carter and Jonah became fast friends and did everything together from going to the beach, playing on the playground, and stroller walks to see dad at the PCC. What a blessing to have such great friends!

This is the boys and their dad's at Hukilua beach. We only lived about a block from there and often walked or drove the golf cart.

We had so many fun adventures in Hawaii. Some of the favorite were: Waimau Falls, hiking Diamond Head, trips to walmart in Mililani, and trips to Waikiki.

Mommy gave this little lion to daddy for valentines day before we were even married and Carter quickly adopted it as his own. He was always so cute when he just woke up. I can't stress enough what a completely sweet boy he is.

Carter is such a water boy. He has always loved the water. He loved to go swimming at the beach and Rhett had trained Carter to swim on his own right after he turned two. This is right before the floaties came off.

Carter has two really good friends here in California. Shaely and David. They do a lot together. This is Carter's 3rd birthday. They went to Chucky Cheese's and came back to have birthday cake. They all live in the same complex so they have the oppurtunity to play together a lot.

This is daddies boy. He loves to go hit golf balls with his daddy. Rhett loves the new golf partner...so does mommy. That means that I don't have to go.

Disneyland. What a wonderful and magical place. We have been there so many times and still love it. This trip we went to the "Blue Bayou" to eat. It was cool!

Carter has had stitches twice. The same eyebrow. Boys are so rough and tumble.

Carter loves to play dress up. This picture was Halloween 2007, but he dresses up as a pirate quite often. He also likes to dress up as a fireman, cowboy, and dentist.

One of Carter's favorite places in the world right now is grandma's timeshare in Big Bear. We have been up there a couple times and he fell in love with it. Our favorite little place to eat is the Bear Paw Cafe. We went there for breakfast and Carter ordered the little sissy meal. It consisted of 1 HUGE pancake, a big plate of eggs, hashbrows, bacon, and 3 pieces of toast. It was huge!

Carter is such an amazing little guy. He was swimming all by himself at 2 years and learned to dive at age 3. He is such a water bug!

Carter is such a good brother. He really helps me out with his little brothers. He loves to play with Taylor and even helps mommy feed and entertain the twins. He is such a blessing.  I sure love him and am glad that's he's in my family!

Here is a little video of our sweet boy. This is his eyebrow video... just to give you a taste of what we get to see all day everyday. Enjoy!

  1. What a big boy he has become! I remember the day he was born . .the first grandbaby/nephew is a BIG deal! :) I was so mad that I had to work but came over right after to see you in the hospital. Then I pretended to be you at some radio contest you and Rhett had entered because they wouldn't let you leave the hospital and you were convinced that you were going to win . .that was funny. We were so sad when you moved to Hawaii - Craig and I had so much fun coming over and playing with your little one. Your airplanes turned out great!! How long did it take you to upload the video?

  2. Carter is such a big kid now. I can't wait to go on vacation with him again. Some of my favorite times were going on Lion hunts on the Queen Mary. It's going to be so fun when your living close by.
